Avi Philipson, Partner

Avi Philipson is a Partner of The Apen Group. Mr. Philipson has an extensive healthcare background as an accomplished investor and operator in a broad spectrum of healthcare businesses. Mr. Philipson brings his breadth of knowledge and experience in healthcare investments and management to the firm’s vision, operations, and oversight.

Mr. Philipson sits on the board of numerous skilled nursing and other healthcare companies throughout the U.S. Under Mr. Philipson’s guidance, these companies are held in high esteem for offering communities the highest level of care possible through progressive clinical treatment. Mr. Philipson’s attention to detail and his passion for patient care ensure that all healthcare companies we invest in continue to push the boundaries of what is possible within the healthcare industry.

Mr. Philipson is an active philanthropist and supports numerous charitable organizations. In particular, he co-founded The Simchas Mayer Fund, a charity assisting newly formed families experiencing financial hardships, in memory of his long-time friend Mayer Weiss.

Eli Nadler, Managing Director

Eli Nadler is a Managing Director of The Apen Group. Mr. Nadler was involved in many phases of Apen’s development and has been an integral part of the firm’s founding. He oversees general firm operations and investments, with a particular emphasis on the behavioral health industry.

Previously, Mr. Nadler served as the Director of M&A for Glenbrook Capital Group. At Glenbrook, he spearheaded research based innovative acquisition strategies for platform-wide growth, with a distinct focus on investments in behavioral health. Prior to his role at Glenbrook, Mr. Nadler led operations for CFE Inc., his family-owned steel company in Gowanus, NY and Plainfield, NJ.

Howard Glicher, Chief Financial Officer

Howard Glicher is the Chief Financial Officer of The Apen Group. In his role, Mr. Glicher provides keen insights into market trends and oversees the reporting, underwriting, and analysis of all firm investments. He leads his team through in depth analysis of companies and markets and collaborates on the firm’s investment outlook. Prior to joining The Apen Group, Mr. Glicher served as Senior Financial Analyst for CHE Behavioral, and as Controller for The Graph Group.

Mr. Glicher received a bachelor’s degree from Post University of Connecticut, and graduated with an M.B.A in Finance & Computer Information Systems from Baruch College, Zicklin School of Business.
